What a journey! It has been one year since we started Lets Go Bear Travels. Thank You to all of our 2200 IG followers for following our adventures and family travel tips.
We are so happy through Instagram platform we have met so many other travelling families from around the world. Your family adventures continue to inspire us to keep on travelling to destinations we never even considered!
We are not professional bloggers (although one day when we retire we may become one). We have full time jobs back home in Perth, Australia. Our love and passion for travel brought us to be brave enough to start up our website.
After utilising Alfred’s rather limited year 10 computing skills to set up www.letsgobeartravels.com we have been getting steady visitors and private messages of support. This year we are hoping to structure the site better to make it easier to navigate and expand articles in more details to help parents. Do send us your suggestions.
Being Indonesian Chinese we grew up having this perception that travel stops once you have children. Too many accept this as reality. Believing it is not doable, too hard, and not worth the effort. That travelling with children is expensive. That the only way to travel is to bring along grandparents, aunties, uncles, even maids, ending up with a bigger travel entourage than Beyonce! And if you do end up convincing your family to travel, you are limited to “safe” and “modern” countries like Korea, Japan & Singapore. Not that there’s anything wrong with these countries – but there are so many other countries to explore!
With a bit of preparation family travel is amazingly rewarding. We definitely find our travels much more memorable now than it was just the two of us. Not to mention finding pleasant surprises along the way. For us who knew that our son who struggle to sit in a 15 minutes church homily is great at sitting still in 17 hours flight from Australia to Europe!
Our goal with Lets Go Bear Travels was simply to encourage parents who consider travelling for the first time to go and coming home wanting to travel again and again. There are some things kids can’t learn in text books. Let children see kindness everywhere, explore this amazing world and allow them to be free of limiting perceptions.
Thank You once again for your love and support. We hope that Lets go Bear Travels is encouraging family to travel and travel better.
Today – 28th of February is also our son Berlin’s 3rd Birthday – we love you so much Bear!
As always – Can’t wait until our next adventure
Lots of love
Tara, Alfred & Berlin
