Travelling exposes you and your children to new experiences. Visiting foreign places, embracing different cultures, trying new foods and meeting new people. It gives your family the chance to experience the world beyond pages of a text book. Children quickly pick up things that are taught to them. Travelling can help reshape your children’s views of the world by experiencing things first hand.
The world is a big wonderful place and it deserves to be seen and explored! The more we travel, the more we realize how little we have seen and that there are so much more to discover. There are so many things in this world too beautiful to only simply read from a book or look through a TV screen. These are experiences our children deserve to have.
For our family visiting exotic places in person, watching locals practice tai-chi at a park in Shanghai to smelling spices and tasting new foods in a night market in Chiang Mai were vibrant experiences which have become ingrained in our brains.
Children that are exposed to these new experiences and cultures from a young age will grow up more open minded. Our favourite quote is from Mark Twain: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness”
