Changing baby nappies during flights are inevitable. These are our 7 tips for easier mid flight nappy changes and handling “mid air explosions”.
1. Change your baby’s nappy before boarding your plane.
This helps minimize the number of nappy changes during your flight.
2. Find the lavatory with a changing table.
In almost all modern planes, there will be at least 1 lavatory equipped with a changing table. In our experience Airbus A380 planes provide the most spacious changing table.
3. If changing table doesn’t exist, get creative.
The next best spot to change your baby is on top of a closed toilet seat. Use a disposable changing mat or a small nappy wallet (we use Skiphop brand). For wet nappies you can change them on your lap in desperate situations.
4. Distract your baby by bringing a small toy to keep their hands busy
5. Take time for mirror playtime (or even a selfie to commemorate your triumph!)
6. Bring disposable nappy bags
